I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
